On June 17th 2011 Al Iaquinta and Gabriel Miglioli went to war, in what many consider one of the best mixed martial arts fights they’ve ever seen. After being nearly knocked out in the first round, Iaquinta battled his way back to a hard fought split decision victory, showing his heart and determination. Then three months later the two fought again, this time for the Ring Of Combat Lightweight title. Check out video highlighting both fights HERE, and a big thank you to http://www.ringfever.com as well as Mark La Monica for posting.

Urijah Faber gained a lot of fans from Long Island NY last night by making a great move and selecting Al Iaquinta with his first team pick. After Cruz selected top ranked Justin Lawrence with the number one overall pick, Faber countered by drafting one of the toughest, hardest working guys in the house, Al Iaquinta. Many believed Faber would pick Mike Rio first, and while Al’s pick may have been unexpected it’s a move that Faber will undoubtedly not regret. Faber went on to say that he felt Al had “a lot of potential, and a lot of room for growth.” He also based his pick on the fact that Al has had great coaching from Ray Longo and Matt Serra. Both coaches went on to select their respected teams. Although both teams are very solid many believe Team Faber has the advantage. What are your thoughts? Continue Reading

As most of you all ready know this season of TUF is LIVE for the first time. In the past when the show was pre recorded fighters were not allowed to have any contact with the outside world. This was crucial so the public wouldn’t have any idea what happened until the show aired on TV. Many people assumed that same rule would apply on this season as well. Continue Reading
It’s been a long road for Al Iaquinta to get where he is today. Spending countless amounts of hours training and learning. Learning how to take his game from wrestler, to kick boxer, to the well rounded fighter he is today. It wasn’t always easy, and it wasn’t always fun but it’s those grueling hours of training, and fights all over New Jersey, Delaware, and even Mexico that lead Iaquinta to where he is today. They say that “sometimes taking a first step is the biggest and most important journey of them all.” As I discussed the other day, last Friday night Al took the most important step in this epic journey. Win your first fight and get in the house. A lot of people have asked what this now means for Iaquinta’s future. The future clearly depends on the next 12 weeks. Regardless of what happens Al’s work ethic as well as his determination is going to leave a lasting impression on his coaches, his team mates, and UFC President Dana White. Continue Reading
If you haven’t seen Al’s fight to get into the house yet, what are you waiting for? Check it out here courtesy of Fightnext.com Very special thank you to them for posting all the fights from Friday night!

Countless fans wanted to show their support for Al Iaquinta when he was on the premier episode of The Ultimate Fighter Live Friday night. The issue was finding a house, restaurant, or bar with the space to fit such a large amount of people. The other concern was making sure the location had enough TV’s that were loud enough for everyone to hear what was going on. That space wasn’t hard to find. McCanns Pub and Grill (5590 Merrick Rd, Massapequa NY, 11758) who sponsors Al in all of his fights, has been the number one spot to watch UFC for years. “Iaquinta Nation” packed McCanns with over 100 people and the staff didn’t disappoint. With great food, drinks, and a bar staff that worked their asses off, I don’t think there is anyone who could say they didn’t have a great time. Although #TeamIaquinta won’t be there every week because we won’t necessarily know when Al’s going to fight, McCanns is a great spot to watch the next UFC on PPV or have your next party. Call 516-798-1496 to plan your party today. Here’s a quick look into some of the excitement from Friday night.
