Last season UFC’s hit reality show “TUF” made the switch from Spike TV to FX experimenting with a new LIVE format. It also made a first time switch airing on Friday nights. This season the show has remained on Friday’s but has gone back to it’s original format. Although a lot of people enjoyed watching the fights Live each week, it was a long time for the fighters to be cooped up in the house together. An even bigger issue was having a situation where a fighter could be in a position where he could have to fight three weeks in a row, something tough to ask of any competitor. Yesterday MMA Junkie came out with an article discussing UFC’s plans to move the show back to a slot on Tuesday nights. I think this is a smart move, and you’ll see the ratings increase dramatically airing mid week instead of Friday night. Let’s hear what you think.
Hey everyone. A very exciting UFC tonight with the main event featuring the return of Welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre fighting the current interim champion Carlos Condit. The fight will be an exciting one, hopefully you all have the opportunity to watch. Tonight’s card was also supposed to feature a fight between Al’s Serra Longo teammate Costas Philippou against Nick Ring. The fight has unfortunately been canceled due to an illness to Nick Ring. We look forward to seeing Costa back in the octagon soon. Here’s Al’s predictions for the rest of tonight’s fights.
Georges St- Pierre vs. Carlos Condit (St-Pierre)
Martin Kampman vs. Johny Hendricks (Hendricks)
Francis Carmont vs. Tom Lawlor (Carmont)
Marck Bocek vs. Rafael Dos Anjos (Bocek)
Mark Hominick vs. Pablo Garza (Hominick)
Patrick Cote vs. Alessio Sakara (Cote)
Cyrille Diabate vs. Chad Griggs (Diabate)
Sam Stout vs. John Makdessi (Stout)

TUF Finalist Al Iaquinta is back in Las Vegas to support his 205 pound Serra Longo teammate Eddie “Truck” Gordon. Gordon who made it passed the first round of tryouts Monday, looks to become the next Serra Longo fighter to make his mark in the UFC. TUF 17 which will feature middle weights as well as light heavy weights is set to air this January on FX. “Everybody here is just hungry to get into the house” Iaquinta said. “You have to have faith in your skills and faith that they’re going to like something in your personality. Otherwise why do you even bother coming?” More on the story via MMA Junkie. Check back here later in the week for more on the story.
