Urijah Faber needed someone to play the part of stopper last night after finding his team down 0-2 to Team Cruz. He had the perfect guy to play that part in Al Iaquinta who never disappoints. Iaquinta came as advertised and although he may have started out slow in the first round, he turned it on and picked up the pace in the second and third sudden victory round. Al scored a big win, first and foremost for himself, as well as Team Faber. Congratulations to Al who’s hard work advances him to the quarter finals. Here’s how it all went down. Continue Reading

You’ve all been anxiously waiting all week and it’s finally Fight Night. Tonight at 10pm watch Al on a brand new episode of UFC’s TUF Live which will conclude with Iaquinta’s fight against Myles Jury. There’s been a lot of talk about both Myles as well as Al all week. People have discussed backgrounds, records, quality of opponents, and past training. Fight fans have watched videos of both fighters, gotten caught up in the betting odds that Vegas came out with, and watched any fight video out there on both Jury and Iaquinta. People have disrespected Al on messages boards, and even continue to try and find excuses for him winning his fight to get into the house agaisnt Jon Tuck. The fact of the matter is he did win that fight without a doubt and he IS in the house, and now it’s his time to show the entire world who Al Iaquinta is. Continue Reading
Last week I had the opportunity of sitting down with Ray Longo and getting his perspective on Al Iaquinta being on this Season of The Ultimate Fighter. You can check that interview out HERE. This week were going in a different direction from the gym to Al’s home. Last night I had the opportunity to interview Al’s sister Jackie. She was nice enough to sit down and take some time out of her busy schedule and let me ask her some questions. I really appreciate Jackie doing this interview as well as all her great insights. If you think it’s difficult watching Iaquinta’s fight as one of his friends or teammates, imagine how difficult it is watching as a sister. Continue Reading
Late last night I saw this article on TUFUFC.com to be honest I considered not posting it at all. For starters it was just reiterating information that most of us all ready knew. Yet the main reason I didn’t post it was because of the disrespect that the article ends with. Since these fights are live for the first time this season now fans have the options of actually putting bets down on each fight. Continue Reading

After taking a closer look into Al Iaquinta and Myles Jury you’ll learn they actually have a few things in common. Both come from a strong wrestling background. Al and Myles have ended many of their fights in the first round by way of knock out or submission. Yet the the thing they have strongest in common is probably what serves as the biggest motivation for both fighters. Both Al and Myles were supposed to be on previous seasons of The Ultimate Fighter. Al broke his hand before he could be on Season 12, while Jury was on Season 13 before a torn ACL forced him off the show. With that missed opportunity looming, both fighters have something to prove. Yet with all those similarities only one of them will have their hand raised Friday night and I have a feeling it’s going to be Al Iaquinta. Continue Reading
