Jon Anik and Al Iaquinta

Check out Al in this weeks Episode of “Anik Attack” featuring UFC’s Jon Anik. Anik does a great job with his work on the Ultimate Fighter Live, as well as his outstanding commentary on different UFC events. Anik recently just did the commentary along side Kenny Florian during UFC on Fuel. Watch this weeks “Anik Attack” HERE where Anik discusses Iaquinta’s fight with Andy Ogle, and takes a look into his opponent this Friday Vinc Pichel. Al Iaquinta sent a message to everyone in the TUF house, and everyone watching the show Friday night. He is not to be taken lightly, and showed that he’s one of the toughest, hardest working fighters on the show. The tough Andy Ogle was no match for the quickness and impressive striking of Iaquinta, who picked Ogle a part before knocking him out at the end of the first round. Iaquinta to the Semi-Finals

Al Iaquinta made a statement last night. He showed people that he’s the guy who is not to be messed with in this tournament. With a big knock out win over Andy Ogle in the first round Iaquinta moves to the semi-finals where he’ll fight Vinc Pichel next week. Check back here later today for a full fight recap and much more. Fight Night – Iaquinta vs. Ogle

It’s been about a month and a half since his last fight with Myles Jury, but it’s finally time for Al Iaquinta to get back in the cage. He’ll do that tonight when he fights his friend and teammate Andy Ogle in a crucial quarter final fight. Make sure to watch the fight LIVE on FX at 10 PM.(Don’t forget big viewing party and open bar at McCann’s Pub and Grill, Massapequa NY.) The two have talked throughout the week about the challenges of fighting someone who they’ve worked with and become close with over the past few months. “Living in the same room as Andy can be awkward” Iaquinta said, “I’ve been laying in bed all night thinking about ways to beat him up, I’m sure he’s probably doing the same.” Al also went on to touch on the personality of Ogle. “He’s really good at conveying his emotions to people, which is something I’m not really good at. I envy him because of that aspect, I kind of want to beat him up because of it also.” Continue Reading

In getting ready for all the craziness at McCanns tomorrow night for Iaquinta vs. Ogle just wanted to take a second to remind all you Facebook people to “like” Al on FACEBOOK.(I’m extremely jealous because he all ready has more people that have “liked” him then I have Facebook friends, but that’s beyond the point.) Just like you’ve all shown amazing support for Al on this blog, liking his Facebook page is just another great way to show some support. The page has some great pictures as well as direct quotes from Al. Not to worry if you don’t have Facebook, anything important about Al will always be posted right here on Iaquinta Nation. Here’s a great video that got posted earlier on UltimateFighter.com Get an in depth perspective from Iaquinta and Ogle leading up to their fight Friday Night. The two give some great insights on their upcoming fight,  and the challenge of fighting someone who isn’t only a teammate, but lives in the same room as you. You can tell both Iaquinta and Ogle have a mutual respect for one another, but are ready to get down to business because the other person is standing in the way of their dream. Watch the video HERE where both fighters touch on the battle of being away from home for so long as well.

This Friday night will conclude the final two quarterfinal match ups, the first being between Vinc Pichel and Chris Saunders, and the fight the majority of you reading this are most interested in Al Iaquinta vs. Andy Ogle. While most of the guys are friendly with each other in the house, the match up between Iaquinta and the England native Ogle is the first time this season two teammates will face off against each other. You’ll get a chance to see two guys in Iaquinta and Ogle who have different backgrounds, different styles, and different mentalities face off in what should be a very interesting fight. Watch Iaquinta-Ogle at McCanns, & T-Shirts

As we get into all the craziness this week I just wanted to throw a few reminders out there for everyone. If you don’t have Facebook or weren’t there last time,  McCanns is the spot Friday night for all of Iaquinta Nation to watch Iaquinta vs. Ogle. If you weren’t able to come down last time HERE’S some pictures and video from Al’s last fight against Myles Jury. Everyone always has a great time and the atmosphere is really incredible. We’ll be doing a three hour open bar for 40 dollars(top shelf no shots) with some appetizers also. Check out all the details about McCanns right HERE on Facebook. If you aren’t doing the open bar that’s great also just come down and show some support for Al. As always it’s going to be a great time.

If you still haven’t gotten your Iaquinta Nation T-Shirt get in touch with me this week. Right now I have smalls, mediums, and extra larges, but I’ll have more of everything on Friday night. If you want to get a shirt try and get there a little earlier because once the show starts everyone will just be focused on that. If you all ready have a shirt don’t forget to wear it Friday Night! Two very exciting fights with what many felt surprising outcomes this passed Friday night. With two fights scheduled for the night, the episode only had a small amount of pre recorded material from during the week. Domminick Cruz briefly spoke about his fighter James Vick and the serious amount of potential a lot of people don’t realize he has. Vick, who is tall with heavy hands could be in the finals according to Cruz, who feels he has a very bright future. Continue Reading
