Al and I wanted to take a minute to tell everyone about a benefit that’s going to be at Mulcahy’s for a great cause. In June, young Nick Polo was diagnosed with a brain tumor and was forced to undergo surgery to remove the tumor. A scary moment in any persons life especially someone at such a young age. Nick has shown what a strong young man he is, as well as his toughness as he continues to fight through this difficult recovery process. His strength is inspiring. On August 24th Mulcahy’s Pub in Wantagh will hold a benefit on Nick’s behalf. Most of the information is on the flyer above. The event will take place between 7-11pm and will include a buffet dinner, drink specials, auctions, raffles, and much more. Tickets for the benefit are $25. We hope everyone can come down to Mulchay’s and support Nick. Nick as well as the entire Polo family are great people, and it’s a pleasure having them as friends. This is an event we wouldn’t miss, and we hope everyone can make it down. We look forward to seeing everyone at Mulchay’s on the 24th.

Tomorrow night Al’s coach from this season of The Ultimate Fighter Urijah Faber will take on Renan Barao for the interim Bantamweight Championship. The fight was originally scheduled to be between Faber and the coach that opposed him during the show, and current UFC Bantamweight Champion Domminck Cruz, but Cruz was forced to withdraw from the fight after tearing his ACL. Cruz will likely fight the winner of this fight once he’s ready to return to the octagon. Just as all of Iaquinta Nation has shown Al support in all his fights, make sure you support the California Kid Urijah Faber this weekend in a big Bantamweight title fight. Here’s Al’s fight predictions for UFC 149. Lets hear your predictions.

Tonight Al Iaquinta’s Serra Longo teammate Chris Weidman will take on Mark Munoz in the main event of UFC on Fuel 4. Tonight LIVE on PPV will be UFC 148, a card that many are calling the event of the year, and others are calling the biggest UFC in history. In the main event Anderson Silva will take on Chael Sonnen for the middle weight title. It’s no surprise that these two guys despise each other. Sonnen is the only guy to ever step into the octagon and beat up Anderson Silva. The last time the two fought Sonnen controlled the fight for four and a half rounds and then got caught in a submission late in the fifth round. The fight, if it lives up to all the hype(and I think it will) has the makings of being one of the greatest rematches ever. Both guys, especially Sonnen have done a lot of talking, but now it’s time to stop all the games and for these guys to settle this once and for all. The fight’s going to be a great one. The card will also have the third fight, and “rubber match” between Forest Griffin and Tito Ortiz. The fight will be the final one of Tito’s career. Also Al’s Serra Longo teammate Constantinos Philippou will take on Riki Fukuda LIVE on FX. Make sure you watch and show him some support. Here’s all of Al’s fight predictions for the night.
